The Rector, Wardens and Vestry happily announce that B. Clarisse Schroeder, an ordained Deacon in this diocese, has joined us as a full time assisting clergyperson at St. George's. Clarisse is a person with great ministerial gifts and a fascinating background. She joins us as a diocesan intern for a term of two years, with the understanding she might stay longer. The diocesan internship model provides that the Diocese pays half of her total costs for the first two years. We are grateful to Bishop Johnson for making this placement possible.
The Rev'd Ms. B. Clarisse Schoeder was ordained to the priesthood at St. George's Church on May 1, 2010 and assumed the position of Curate.

| | | | Angela Gill Saunders, D.M.A.
Born in Devon, England, Angela immigrated to the United States in 1967. After completing high school in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, she attended Macalester College in St. Paul, graduating in 1973 with majors in biology and music. In 1979 and 1983, she completed graduate degrees in organ performance from the University of Colorado, Boulder. During that time she garnered several awards, including a research grant from the University of Colorado Graduate School, and was the winner of a hymn-tune competition held by the Southwest Jersey Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, judged by the late Dr. Eric Routley.
Marrying right after school, Angela moved to Tidewater, Virginia in 1983, where her husband, Mark, was stationed in the U.S. Navy. As Director of Music at Larchmont United Methodist Church, Norfolk, Angela also taught organ and harpsichord at Old Dominion University. She was a performer on harpsichord and Renaissance woodwinds with the Locrian Consort, a professional early music group in Norfolk. In 1987 the Saunders family moved to Lakehurst, New Jersey,. At that time, Angela was Organist-Choirmaster at the Church of St. Uriel the Archangel in Sea Girt until relocating in Bartlett, in 1992.
Angela has served several churches in the Memphis area before coming to St. George’s in 2005, including St. Elisabeth’s Episcopal Church in Raleigh-Bartlett, and Buntyn Presbyterian Church near the University of Memphis. She is a long-time member of the American Guild of Organists, and has held several offices with the Guild. In addition, Angela is a member of the Organ Historical Society and the Association of Anglican Musicians.
The mother of two adult children who almost successfully avoided musical careers, Angela enjoys keeping lizards and studying wildlife.

| | | | EILEEN FIELDS, ADMINISTRATOR FOR OPERATIONS AND FACILITIES:
Eileen came to St. George's about 3 months before The Reverend Gary Sturni did, in 2004, and knows the ins and outs of the life of the parish better than most anyone else. As Administrator for Operations and Facilities, Eileen's time is almost totally taken up with the finances of the parish, records management, and building maintenance and operations (she is Staff to the Buildings and Grounds Committee, as well as numerous other of our infrastructure committees). In light of recent changes, she is also taking back responsibility for maintaining our calendar (no small order).

| | | | LOGAN HURST, MINISTER WITH YOUTH:
St. George’s Episcopal Church in Germantown, welcomed Logan Hurst on March 29, 2010 as Minister for Youth to further expand the youth program for children from 6th through 12th grades. Logan comes to St. George’s from Murfreesboro, TN, where he had nine years of experience in youth programs as an intern lay youth minister, a full-time youth minister and a site director for after school programs. In greetings to the parish families, Logan says that he is thrilled to be here and to share Christ’s ministry with the youth of the parish. Logan, who felt a call to ministry in his teen years and who has shared in the youth ministry work of his father, an Episcopalian priest, says “I like being out with people, in relationships with people where ministering together is 90% walk and 10% talk.” In his years in youth ministry, Logan’s position is that “This is the youth’s ministry and I am here to facilitate and minister alongside them;” to be a friend and confident with whom they can share their experiences and grow in faith. Logan, 27, is a 2006 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. He is married to Roxie, and they have an Italian greyhound, Clyde.
