About Us
Saint George’s Episcopal Preschool (SGEP) is an outreach ministry of the church and a service to the community of Germantown and the surrounding areas. Our mission is to provide a loving Christian environment within which your child can grow in mind, body, and spirit and in relationship to God and others through developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

The Program The Preschool accepts children who are 15 months old by September 1st of the current year through children who are 5 years old. We have five age groups: Toddlers, Twos, Threes, Younger Fours, and Older Fours.
Each age group has a structured day that includes free play, group time, indoor/outdoor play, snack, art, music (Monday and Tuesday), chapel (Wednesday and Thursday), Spanish, lunch, and nap.
In the toddler and two-year-old classes, teachers follow weekly themes to introduce concepts such as shapes and colors in English and Spanish. Our main goal in these classes is to help the children enjoy learning in a group setting. We work on skills such as taking turns, sharing, separating from parents, and following directions that are the foundation for future school and life success.
In the three- and four-year-old classes, we continue extending the social and emotional skills learned in the younger rooms, and add more academic skills. In these rooms we begin letter recognition and pre-writing (3’s), letter sounds and writing(4’s), as well as science experiments, math, cooking, and Spanish.

| | Saying grace | | Registration
We are now accepting registration for 2010-2011 school year
Registration takes place at the end of January for the next year's term. A non-refundable registration fee is required in order to reserve your child's spot. If classes are full, this fee keeps your child on the waiting list.
Preschool registration packets are mailed out the first week in February. St George's families must register at this time for priority placement. In 2010, registration packets will be mailed out to parishioners with children in the Toddler to five year age range early February. Parishioners receive priority enrollment when their registration forms and fee are received by February 12th. Parishioners in good standing who choose to attend St. George’s Preschool will receive a credit in the amount of the registration fee, on their second month’s tuition in October. This year we had 7 children from the parish in the program and we would love to see that number go up! Please call 757-2675 or contact Sarah Bettendorf to put your name and address on the list to receive a packet.

| | | | The Facility In the fall of 2007 the preschool moved, along with the rest of the church, into our wonderful new space on Germantown Road. Each age group has its own large room with attached bathroom facilities custom built for young children. Music classes are taught in a dedicated music room. Our new playground is located next to the preschool wing, as is the large activity center where children play with balls, parachutes, trikes, and let out energy during inclement weather.
